I am looking for a career change and was reading up on bulk email marketing for a particular job I am looking at. I am assuming that this would be done by a particular type of software. Does anyone know what type of software this would be so that I can read about it or if you know anything about the concept will you please share you experience.

From my understanding the best way to market online by mass email is to create an opt in email list where users come to your site and enter their email address. As you collect them when you have a sale or special or just want to remind them to come back to your website you email all customers in the database. I have heard that you can buy email addresses, but this crosses into spam.
